The Nikon FE2 was introduced in 1983. It is an advanced enthusiast level, F-mount, 35mm film SLR. It features the same compact and light design as the Nikon FM but has an electronic shutter release. The built and layout of this camera is near perfect and Nikon knew that as they used this design all the way until 2001 when they stopped the production of the Nikon FM2.
It is the perfect camera for a film photography enthusiast trying to improve their photography game. It’s exceptionally strong, reliable, and precise, and offers meter-assisted manual shooting that more established shooters will love. Yet with the flick of a dial, thanks to its aperture priority mode, it offers enough automation to allow new shooters to learn on a machine that’s truly remarkable.
The viewfinder is big, bright and fully-informative, showing enough information that it’s possible to shoot the FE without taking one’s eye from the finder. This camera features a split-image rangefinder circle surrounded by a micro prism focusing aid, and a larger etched circle to indicate the effective metering area. The selected lens aperture is displayed in an optic window to the top of the image area, and to the left of the frame we find a shutter scale that displays both the selected shutter speed and a light meter readout via a separate needle. In auto-mode this swing needle indicates which speed will be chosen, while in manual mode it merely indicates a suggested speed.
It produce medium to strong contrast and high saturation colors suitable with Malaysia weather and everyday shoot.
The Canon Ae-1 and Ae1-Program. “Nampak sama tapi tak serupa”.
That Malay saying when you see something identical but its actually not.
A must-try for all who are new and a true go-to for the familiar, Ilford Pan F+ is one of the most celebrated 35mm film.
